TAGB is announcing Telugu Storytelling competition (అనగనగా...ఒక కథ) and welcomes all kids from Elementary to High school and adults to take part. The contest will take place during the Sankranthi celebrations on Feb 1, 2020 at the venue.
Contest will be held in 5 levels:
• ప్రథమ స్థాయి – Level I (Grades 1-3)
• ద్వితీయ స్థాయి – Level II (Grades 4-6)
• తృతీయ స్థాయి – Level III (Grades 7-9)
• చతుర్థ స్థాయి– Level IV (Grades 10-12)
• పంచమ స్థాయి– Adults
Rules for Storytelling Competition
• There will be a bommala koluvu at the venue, with the event starting at 1:00pm. Participants must prepare and narrate a story that includes some or all of the items in the koluvu.
• Time given for preparation: 45 minutes.
• Time given for story narration: 3 minutes
• Participants from Levels I and II can make note/index cards and refer to them while narrating their stories. This is not permitted for Level III and above.
• Each contestant will introduce himself/herself (name and grade, if applicable) before starting the story.
• Participants can use English words in their story but those using the most Telugu words will score higher.
• Participants will be judged on vocabulary, pronunciation, sentence structure, flow of the story, use of Telugu words, and their overall presentation
• Judges’ decision is final
• Winners from each level will be announced after the competition around 3pm and invited on stage for prize distribution around 5pm. No winners will be announced if less than 3 entries are received for a level.
• Last day to submit entries: Jan 30, 2020.
Entry Fee: $5 for members and $10 for non-members.
