This is to Invite all of you to the TAGB General Body Meeting for this year.

The following proposals will be discussed in the General Body meeting. The plan is to amend the by-laws with majority approval by following existing guidelines to determine majority vote.
 
01.Eligibility for the Executive Meeting.
 
10.06 ELIGIBILITY OF CONTESTANTS
 
(New Addition)
 
C. Any TAGB life member filing their nomination for the first time for an office in the Executive committee must file Nomination for Joint Treasure or Joint Secretary/Sport Secretary or Cultural Secretary.
 
 
02. Eligibility for the position of President Elect
 
Current:
Annexure 4 1)President Elect Eligibility criteria:
The aspirant must have served in two positions of Governing Board with at least one term in Executive Committee.
 
Proposed Amendment:
Annexure 4 1)President Elect Eligibility criteria:
The aspirant must have served in two positions of Governing Board with at least one term in Executive Committee as Secretary. If such a person can't be found then the aspirant must have served in two positions of Governing Board with at least one term in Executive Committee as Treasurer. If such a person can't be found, then the aspirant must have served in two positions of Governing Board with at least one term in Executive Committee. 
 
03. Eligibility for the position of Secretary
 
Current:
"Eligibility of Contestants" guidelines in Section 10.06
 
Proposed Amendment:
The aspirant must have served in one position of Governing Board. If such a person can't be found, then "Eligibility of Contestants" guidelines in Section 10.06 are applicable.
 
03. Eligibility for the position of Treasurer

Proposed Amendment:
The aspirant must have served in one position of Governing Board. If such a person can't be found, then "Eligibility of Contestants" guidelines in Section 10.06 are applicable.
 
04. Event expenses for BOT approval

8.05 : CONTRACT SERVICES/GOODS
 
A. No Governing Board member or committee shall authorize, pay, or reimburse any party for any contract for services or goods involving expenditures in excess of $7,000.00 (seven thousand) unless such services or goods are first approved in advance by a majority of the EC.
 
C. Any contract or event costing more than $7,000 must be approved by the Governing Board in advance.
 
Proposed Amendment:
 
Since implementing our by-laws in 2010, event expenses have gone up by at least 50% with increased auditorium rental costs. I believe it is time to review our numbers and following is my proposal for amendment.
